Quality settings can be used to add new quality inspection programs, edit how existing programs work, or import program templates to save time setting up new programs. You need to be a Quality Admin to see the settings icon.
Quality Programs consist of multiple Categories, and each Category contains multiple Criteria which are the individual elements of the inspection.
Before you create your own Quality Programs, or edit a built in programs, it is important to understand the three parts of Farmsoft Quality inspection:
Quality Program: The Quality Program includes the name of the test, eg: "Incoming inventory QC". And controls what is being tested, and allows you to choose special fields such as a batch number, pallet number, delivery number, or inventory number. These special fields are important to connect the test with specific inventory or batch so the app can relate them.
Category: Each program has one or more Category. Common categories for testing raw materials may include Major, Minor, Physiological, Packaging, etc. Each category has a "Test type" option that determines if the test is a Pass or Fail (the most common and simplest test type), Percentage (ie: you weigh the test subject and then weigh each Criteria breach), Score (Test must not exceed score for this Category, set individual score on each Criteria).
Criteria: Each Category has one or more Criteria. The Criteria is an individual element of the test. Eg: "Presence of insects" or "Packaging is free of dents or crush marks". You can also attach photos to each criteria so the quality officer can see an example during testing.
Each quality test, or quality inspection is called a "Quality Program" and is usually for inspecting one subject eg: Strawberry, Blueberry, or Daily Factory Hygiene Test. Each Quality Program can have multiple Categories, and each Category can have multiple Criteria.
"Subject" is the thing you are inspecting, eg: a box of strawberries. "Samples" enter 0 to allow user to choose how many samples per inspection are recorded, OR enter the exact number of samples required per inspection, OR leave blank to disable multi-sample inspections. "Report 1, 2, 3": Select the default reports to show for this Quality program, you can also select a label if you need to print Quality labels.
Categories control what type of data will be requested during test/inspection for this Categories Criteria, eg: Major, Minor, Physical, Packaging etc... Test type "Pass / failed" provides a simple thumbs up/down for each Criteria in this Category, "Deduct from 100" deducts and allows you to set minimum score, "Percent of sample" is used for either weight of criteria or enter percent directly, "Score" to demand result is equal to or over a score, "Value range" to require a number between a two others, and "Any value will pass" allows entry of any value which will automatically pass.
Criteria are the individual details of the inspection, eg: Fruit size, Color, Sugar content, or Packaging Type. "Failed message" will show if the Criteria fails.
"Options" allow user to select from a list, eg: Large, Medium, Small, etc. If you enter values here and test type is Pass/Fail, then selecting a value during test will insert the option into the Notes field and pass this criteria.
"Default": "Pass" or "Fail" to pass/fail by default. Or enter the actual default value to be used on new tests.
"Failed responses" separated with a comma will present these options upon failure. "Require failed response" demands user enters or selects a response upon failure. "Fail entire test" will fail entire inspection regardless of all other Criteria. "Show prior values" will show a short list of previous values entered for Value, Score, and Any Response Passes to make data entry quicker. "Optional" makes this Criteria optional, no value is demanded. Upload a photo here that will show during the inspection.

If you need a custom quality label or report, please contact your consultant.
Your consultant can add unlimited custom fields to your Quality Program, please ask.
To add custom fields yourself, go to Settings > Admin > "User defined", select the Quality section and add your custom fields.
These settings on Quality Program relate to fields from the Producepak Fresh Produce, Food Service, Food Manufacturing, and Meat Packing solutions. If you do not use these solutions, don't activate these options.
Inventory that is put on hold can't be sold. Put inventory on hold if there is a potential issue with it that must be investigated before it can be used further, or to keep a sample from a batch in case the customer challenges quality at a later date; you can then examine the sample to determine if the customers claims are valid. The "Inventory on hold" popup will show after entry of Criteria if you activate switch "Hold" if the test fails. To make the "Inventory on hold" popup always show for this test (eg: if you are keeping a sample from a batch) activate "Hold" AND enter "0" into field "Fails to hold batch". If inventory is on hold, you will see "ON HOLD" next to that inventory on reports and screens. Edit the inventory to turn OFF hold status.
