Australia produced 27,540 t of blueberries worth A$505.1 million in the year to June 2024. NSW grew 23,575 t – about 86 % of the crop – centred on Coffs Harbour and the Mid North Coast, much of it under polytunnels; Tasmania, Queensland and WA supply the rest (Hort Innovation).
Since 12 February 2025, berry growers and primary processors must also meet FSANZ Standard 4.2.7, which includes traceability. Fast cooling, punnet weights and rapid supplier feedback are where packhouses win or lose margin.
