Mango in Australia

The Australian mango season runs from about September to March, starting in the Northern Territory (Darwin and Katherine), then Queensland (Bowen, Mareeba–Dimbulah, Burdekin) and finishing in northern NSW and WA. Kensington Pride, Calypso, R2E2 and Honey Gold are the main varieties.

Packhouses de-sap, wash and treat fruit, then grade by count. The Australian Mango Industry Association publishes harvest guides, HARPS guidance and export requirements; Hort Innovation project MG15006 summarises export market requirements.
