Cherry in Australia

Australia produced 18,471 t of cherries worth A$290.8 million in the year to June 2024, and exported 4,031 t worth A$86.0 million (Hort Innovation). Tasmania supplied 53.4 % of export volume and Victoria 35.2 %; NSW (Young and Orange) and the Adelaide Hills supply the early domestic season.

Cherries are a short, high-value season with protocol markets in Asia. Hydro-cooling speed, row size and pitting decide price, and export consignments need registered blocks and treatments documented.
