Stone fruit in Australia
Australian summerfruit – peaches, nectarines, plums and apricots – is grown in the Goulburn Valley and Swan Hill (VIC), the Riverina and Young (NSW), the Riverland and Adelaide Hills (SA), Queensland's Granite Belt and Western Australia. The season runs from about October to April and each variety is picked for only a few weeks, so packhouses change programs constantly.
Exports to Asian protocol markets require registered orchards and packhouses and treatments recorded per consignment.
